Dr. Adrien Peyrache did his PhD thesis at the LPPA-Collége de France, under the direction of Sidney Wiener and myself. He has worked on prefrontal/hippocampal interactions, developing a method to identify activation of cell assemblies, and their successive replay during sleep. His thesis was awarded the “prix de thèse” of the French Society for Neuroscience. He’s currently a post-doc at the CNRS-UNIC in Gif-sur-Yvette.

Dr. Karim Benchenane, as a postdoc at LPPA-Collège de France, worked on theta rhythm coherence between hippocampus and prefrontal cortex, finding a link with cell assembly formation, selection of important information and dopamine action on the prefrontal cortex. Currently, Karim is a Research Scientist at CNRS-NPA Université de Paris 6.

Henrique Cabral is currently a PhD student at SILS Center for Neuroscience under Cyriel Pennartz’s and my supervision. In collaboration with Laure Rondi-Reig and Celine Fouquet, Henrique is characterizing spatial correlates of neural ensemble hippocampal activity in NMDA NR-1 KO specific for the CA-1 subfield of the hippocampus, in a route-finding task.

Tara Arbab is currently a PhD student at SILS Center for Neuroscience under Cyriel Pennartz’s and my supervision. She is studying the effect of the Fmr-1 mutation (model of Fragile-X mental retardation) on the neural ensemble activity in the mouse hippocampus, and its spatial correlates. The transgenic mice are obtained in a collaboration with Ben Oostra‘s lab.

Dr. Katalin Gothard is Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. We have (and still are) collaborating on the analysis of electrophysiological signals in the monkey amygdala.
