Workshop “Network Synchronization, from dynamical systems to Neuroscience”

From May, 19th to May 30th 2008, Nicolas Brunel, Massimo Cencini, Alessandro Torcini and I organized a workshop on Workshop on “Network Synchronization, from dynamical systems to Neuroscience” at the Lorentz Center, in Leiden.

The aim of the  workshop was to bring together scientists
working in the field of nonlinear dynamics and neuroscientists with
an interest in collective phenomena and synchronization of complex
networks.

We intended this meeting as a seed for
off-springing new connections leading to new ideas and collaborations
among scientists working on the same subject but, up to now, from different
perspectives and with a different background.

Indeed, the workshop was lively with discussion both during the talk and self-organized during the free time in the schedule. For this, the traditional format of Lorentz Center’s workshop proved itself very fruitful.

Thanks again to the Lorentz Center and its terrific staff.
